About the Author
Lynny Prince is a Kentucky native who inherited her passion for reading and writing from her mother, a published poet and literature addict. Prince penned her first book at the age of twelve, but her passion quickly took a turn when she was given a guitar as a Christmas gift. She spent upwards of twenty years as a professional musician and songwriter, something she is still passionate about today. She stepped away from the stage in 2003 to focus on caring for her mother who was suffering from cancer. It was during this time that she began writing Scattered Leaves: The Legend of Ghostkiller.
Prince's first novel is based on her husband's family, the Dakota Sioux of Mankato, MN. As a family member, Prince has the insider’s perspective on the life of the Dakota people and the struggles that they face today. She and her husband founded Red Road Awareness in 2007, a non-profit that assists American Indians in crisis. During this time, Prince also began producing book trailers and public service announcements for clients.
Ms. Prince is currently producing a trailer to generate interest in a film titled "Ghostkiller," based on her first book. The trailer will ride the film festival circuit in 2014. She is also producing a music video highlighting her new single "Ride it Out," that will be used to raise awareness to the horrors of the horse slaughter industry.
You can follow Ms. Prince on her blog,"Diary of a Published Indie Author,"which follows her journey and also offers tips, tricks and advice to other authors.
